Preheat oven to 400F degrees. Cream butter, shortening, and sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla, and mix well. Mix in flour, salt, and baking powder. Chill for 1 hour, unless you are hungry for some cookies. Bake for 6-8 minutes. Don't over bake. I usually remove them before they start browning.
